Analysis of Air Pollutant Emissions for Mechanized Rice Cultivation in Korea

In Korea, rice is a major staple grain and it mainly cultivated using various types of agricultural machinery. Air pollutants emitted from machinery have their origins the exhaustion internal combustion engines. this study, emission characteristics five main air by European Environment Agency’s Tier 1 method for cultivation were analyzed. Diesel fuel gasoline generally used only transplanters as in Korea. Tractors consume 46% total consumption 56% diesel consumption. Gasoline accounts about 17% each year. emit 82% all pollutants. From 2011 to 2019, amount pollutant emissions decreased 15%. That accounted reduction fields those periods. Rice transplanting operation 42% emissions. Then, harrowing, harvesting, tilling, leveling, pest control operations generated 10%, 8%, 7% emissions, respectively. The contribution held 54% CO, 39% NOx, 5% NMVOC, 2% TSP inventory. three regions emitting mechanized practices Jeollanam-do, Chungcheongnam-do, Jeollabuk-do, which 55% usage farming. 2019 was calculated 8448 tons
